PIKEVILLE – The economic growth of eastern Kentucky will continue in 2016 with a number of restaurant establishments committed to development in Pikeville.
“The City Commission adopted a new comprehensive plan in 2004 and amended the plan in 2014,” City Manager Donovan Blackburn said.
He said part of each plan revealed the need to recruit national and local retail and restaurants to our city.
“Not only to improve the quality of life for those who live here, but to also help the city to become a regional service hub to help the local economy,” he added.
Blackburn said the City Commission has worked extremely hard creating opportunity for investments in our community while offering a wider selections where in the past you would normally have to go to a metro market to experience.
“Again, this not only benefits those who live here, but also allows many outlining markets to stay closer to home while also keeping their money in eastern Kentucky. Pikeville continues to grow due to vision, planning, and hard work of leadership.” he concluded.
The following restaurants are scheduled to open soon:
Moe's Southwest Grill
Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches
Buffalo Wild Wings
Sliced by the Blue Raven
