Welcome to the Medical Staff Services Department!

The Medical Staff Office is responsible for credentialing all physicians, dentists, podiatrists, and many mid-level practitioners who wish to have membership and privileges at Pikeville Medical Center.  It also provides many support services to the medical staff.

Our team includes: 

Dennis Brown, CPMSM, CPCS, Director, Medical Staff Services

Dennis is a consultant who is working as director of our department.  He oversees all aspects of the Medical Staff Office to ensure that we provide quality services and comply with The Joint Commission standards and other regulatory agencies.  Dennis works closely with the elected officers of the Medical Staff as well as department and committee chairs.   He also focuses on additional training of our team, and enacting quality improvement measures within the department.

Christie Hobson, Medical Staff Coordinator

Christie is responsible for the credentialing/re-credentialing of approximately one-half of the medical staff.  She attends and takes minutes for six Medical Staff committees, and helps coordinate numerous projects that are done through our office. 

Eddie Hamilton, Medical Staff Assistant

Eddie is responsible for the credentialing/re-credentialing of approximately one-half of the medical staff.    In addition, he attends and takes minutes for four Medical Staff committees. 

Kitty Burchett, Medical Staff Secretary

Kitty provides support services to the Medical Staff office and to physicians.  In addition to her many secretarial duties, she sends out initial applications to interested practitioners, keeps credentials files current, and assists with the numerous background checks that are required for each applicant.  Kitty is responsible for the Emergency Department Call Schedules, meeting calendars, and is the resident expert on how to get things done within the hospital system.
